今回の記事では「IELTSスピーキングパート3の対策と過去問70題」」を紹介します。

それでは、詳しくみていきましょう。

「パート3」対策

まずは「パート3」の概要です。

形式	意見展開
時間	およそ5分
質問数	4 – 8問
内容	パート2に関連したトピック

パート3では「明確な答えのない」抽象的な質問に対して、自分の主張を展開します。

トピックは、パート2のスピーチと同じ内容、または関連した内容です。

このパートで求められていることは「具体的かつ客観的な例」を挙げて、ロジカルに主張を展開することです。

質問数は4-8問です。受験者が、各問いにどれだけ長く回答するかにより、聞かれる質問数が変わります。

質問の難易度は、徐々に上がるようになっています。これは、難易度の易しい最初の数問に長く回答することができると、後の難易度の高い質問を避けられるということを指します。

思ったことをすぐに言葉にだすのではなく、考えてから答える習慣を身につけましょう。パート1や2とは違い、暗記だけでは太刀打ちできないセクションです。

対策を確認しましょう：

ライティングと同時に対策

スピーキングのパート3は、ライティングのタスク2と同時並行での対策をオススメします。

問いが非常に似ている（トピックによっても全く同じ！）ことがあります。双方とも、「意見」「メリット・デメリット」「課題解決型」の問いがよく出題されます。

一度エッセイで練習をしておくと、スピーキングでも「比較」「トレンドの描写」「予想」などを巧妙に話すことができます。

非ネイティブスピーカーにとっては、一度書き起こしていないと、即興で話すことは非常に困難な問いも多く出題されますね！

考える時間をとる

パート3では、今まで考えたこともない質問を聞かれます。（そして、問いが難しい！）

そんな時は、1文目を暗記したフレーズで始めると、考える時間が作れます。

Mmm…I am not really sure, but…
I don’t really know much about that, but…
That’s an interesting question and I think I would have to say…
Actually, that’s not something I’ve really thought about, but…
Off the top of my head I would say…

「正直言ってわからないですね…」

といったようなフレーズを話している間に、アイデアを考える、もしくは、どう展開していくを整理するのは有効です。

または、試験官に「問いの言い換え」を頼むのも有効な手段です。

I’m sorry I didn’t quite catch that, could you please rephrase it?

リフレーズをお願いしても、減点対象にはなりません。ただし、こちらの使用は一回に控えましょう。

ポイントをクリアにする

パート3では、その難しさから「途中で自分でも何を言ってるかわからなくなる」ことが多々あります。

そういった場合は、以下のようなフレーズを使用し、最後に要点をまとめましょう。

Another way to put it is…
Well, let me clarify that by pointing out…
How can I put this better… Oh yes, what I mean to say is that…

IELTSは英語力を測る試験ではあるものの、話している内容が伝わらない場合、「英語力不足」の印を押されてしまいます。

もったいないですよね、効果的に内容を伝える技術は覚えておくと便利です。

似た課題として、話しの方向性がわからなくなり、話しをどう終えたら良いかが分からなくなることがあります。

そういった際には、以下のフレーズが有効です。

What I mean to say is…
Sorry I have lost my train of thought what I’m trying to say is…
Oh, I seem to have lost my train of thought, let me see, oh yes, that’s right, what I mean to say is…

特に避けたいことは、話の途中で立ち止まったり、同じことをゼロから言い直したりすることです。（沈黙は最悪の評価となります！）

話し切るために、「要点を言い直したり」「話しの終え方」を覚えておくときっと役に立つかと思います！

長く話すための技術を知る

パート3は、試験官にとっては「受験者の限界を見極める」パートです。

そのため、このパートでは長く話すことが求められています。（特に6.5以上を狙っている人！）具体的には、4-6文程度が理想です。

IELTSにおける、回答を長くしていく技術は5つあります。

反論をもってくる
一旦受けてから回答する

パート3の70題

次に、スピーキング「パート3」のよく出る例題70トピックを紹介します。

これらは「2019年から22年の間に出題された過去問」が中心です。

まずは、サンプル問題と解答例を紹介しますね。

サンプル問題：

Do you think students should be taken to school by their parents or go by themselves?

解答例：

Actually, that’s not something I’ve really thought about, but if a student is in primary school, then he or she can use the school bus. Parents may also drop them to school. But if students are mature enough to go to school by themselves, they can go on their own without being dependent on their parents.

まず、冒頭で、先ほど紹介したフレーズ「それについては考えたことがないですが…」と前おきをしています。

その上で、回答を長くするための技術3「違う状況を説明する」というテクニックを使用しています。

このような形で、下記の70トピックにおいて、自分だけの解答を作成してみてください。きっと本番でも、うまく立ち回れるようになります！

Law

4. Why some people prefer to be a lawyer

Book
